Revised plans for 471 bed hotel have been approved by Westminster City Council.

The redevelopment plans aim to improve the image of the building and to make the area more family orientated.

The plans include a 471 room hotel on the upper floors, eight residential apartments and more and better shopping and restaurant facilities on the lower floors.

Westminster City Council approved plans for the Hotel redevelopment on 8th May 2008. The scheme also includes residential apartments, improved retail and leisure space. Westminster's planning committee chairman, councilor Alastair Moss, said "This is an internationally significant site and I am delighted with the response of the applicants on all fronts."
