Piccadilly Circus to be transformed into vibrant dreamscape by acclaimed artist
We are excited to reveal that Piccadilly Circus will soon be transformed into a vibrant dreamscape, thanks to an extraordinary installation by the acclaimed British-Nigerian artist Yinka Ilori MBE in collaboration with the Heart of London Business Alliance (HOLBA).
From 20th – 25th August, the iconic Shaftesbury Memorial Fountain will be adorned with two grand Pegasus figures, soaring 23 feet high, in a celebration of creativity and imagination.
This marks the first time in 132 years that this beloved landmark has been enhanced in such a visionary way. Yinka’s bold and joyful style will not only capture the public’s attention but also encourage everyone to reflect and be inspired by the power of possibility.
We are incredibly proud to support initiatives like this that activate the public realm and breathe new life into our city.
Omar Aziz, Director at Criterion Capital and HOLBA Board Member, commented, “Art is more than just a visual experience – it’s a way to foster community, support the creative industries, and enrich the character of our spaces. Our long-term commitment to the West End continues to be fuelled by these core values, and we look forward to seeing the positive impact this installation will have on the area, driving footfall and stimulating the local economy. Special congratulations to the HOLBA team for their dedication to making our area more vibrant and dynamic. It’s a privilege to be part of a community that understands the importance of art and culture in placemaking.” Don’t miss the opportunity to witness something truly special. “Good Things Come to Those Who Wait” will be on display for just six days, so be sure to visit Piccadilly Circus and experience it first-hand.
