Criterion Capital opens fourth London Zedwell hotel in iconic Knightsbridge property
Criterion Capital announces the highly anticipated opening of its fourth Zedwell hotel in the heart of Knightsbridge, marking another bold step in the brand’s rapid UK expansion.
Located within the historic Scotch House, this iconic venue has been transformed into a vibrant hospitality destination. Zedwell Knightsbridge is part of Criterion Capital’s ambitious plan to create 8,500 rooms by 2028, including new Zedwell locations in the City of London, York, Manchester, and Edinburgh. By consistently blending accessibility, prime locations, and innovative design, Zedwell is setting a new benchmark in hospitality.
Situated in the heart of Knightsbridge’s world-class office and retail district, Zedwell Knightsbridge puts Harrods, Harvey Nichols, and the recently redeveloped Sloane Street on its doorstep. Just a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, and with easy access to South Kensington’s cultural attractions, including Exhibition Road’s famed museums, this new Zedwell caters to both leisure and business travellers. Knightsbridge, one of London’s highest footfall destinations with over 37 million visitors annually, exemplifies Zedwell’s commitment to providing city centre locations without compromising on affordability. This follows the success of Zedwell’s other flagship London locations – Piccadilly Circus, Tottenham Court Road, and Greenwich.
Zedwell Knightsbridge showcases the brand’s upgraded sleep-centric “cocoons”, designed for ultimate tranquility. Featuring soundproofed walls, purified air, body-cushioning mattresses, and ambient lighting, each cocoon is tailored to provide a rejuvenating retreat from the city’s hustle and bustle. Sustainability drives this project, with Zedwell committed to meeting the growing demand for environmentally responsible travel. This opening also reflects Criterion Capital’s broader vision for its Knightsbridge Green Estate, which includes significant investment in enhancing the streetscape and commercial units for the benefit of visitors, businesses, and local residents.
Halima Aziz, Head of Hotels at Criterion Hospitality, commented: “The opening of Zedwell Knightsbridge underscores our dedication to delivering exceptional, sustainable hotels across the UK. By revitalising Scotch House, we’re preserving a heritage asset and creating long-term value, while positioning Zedwell for scalable growth and redefining urban hospitality in one of London’s most exciting districts.”
