This landmark scheme will breathe new life into the historic site, creating a vibrant, sustainable destination for the community.

This ambitious transformation will deliver:

134 New Homes – Including 35% affordable housing, providing much-needed homes for local families.

A 150-Room Zedwell Hotel – Offering high-quality, affordable accommodation in a prime location.

Community & Creative Spaces – Featuring recording studios, co-working areas, and a vibrant café.

A Revitalised Public Square – Enhancing green spaces, pedestrian access, and public art, creating a thriving hub for the local community.

Sustainability First – By retaining the building’s existing concrete frame, we’re preventing 4,593 tonnes of CO₂ emissions – proving that bold design and sustainability can go hand in hand.

Omar Aziz, Criterion Capital, commented: “This redevelopment is about more than just buildings – it’s about people. By transforming the former court into a dynamic, community-first space, we are creating new homes, cultural landmarks, and public areas that will bring lasting benefits to Camberwell. The revitalised public square will be a focal point, ensuring this space is not only functional but also inspiring.”

Halima Aziz, Criterion Hospitality, added: “Zedwell’s expansion into Camberwell underscores our commitment to delivering innovative, sustainable hospitality. By revitalising the existing structure, we are drastically reducing the project’s carbon footprint while providing a high-quality, sleep-centric hotel experience. This project will set a new benchmark for urban regeneration, demonstrating how environmental responsibility and thoughtful design can integrate harmoniously.”

We are excited to bring this pioneering project to Camberwell and we look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the local community.
